Flint Hills Tallgrass Prairie Discovery Center

Manhattan, Kansas. In April 2012 the Flint Hills Discovery Center opened in the middle of the largest remaining portion – still millions of acres – of America’s once vast tallgrass prairie. A 58 foot curved surface opens gradually over the course of the film to immerse the audience in the experience of the tallgrass prairie as it was formed across the eons and through the seasons today. 4D effects include wind, snow, fog and smoke, simulated fire effects and the shadow of a hawk swooping overhead.
