Louisville, Kentucky. The Greatest Race, the world’s first 4k/Ultra HD full surround cinematic experience, portrays the excitement, color, pageantry and deep tradition that culminate in the “greatest two minutes in sports” on the first Saturday in May. A 60-person film crew, including the only large-scale 360-degree rig capable of capturing scenes at this scale, had unprecedented access to capture behind-the-scenes moments – from a foal first steps on a prize-winning farm to early morning workouts at the track, inside the jockey’s room just before the race, and the view standing only inches away as 20 of the worlds top Thoroughbred horses bolt from the gate. The emotional and visual impact of this immersive experience leaves visitors with an unforgettable connection with the event and the story. The core crew is reassembled every year on Derby Day to film the famous stretch run, so that The Greatest Race always concludes with the most recent Kentucky Derby winner.
